One thing we can all agree on is that the Scuba Gear Regulator is a necessity before going Scuba Diving. But how would one know which regulator would be their best purchasing option. The first question to ask yourself are what are your dive pattners. Or are you just a beginner starting about to go on your first diving adventure? The process of choosing the proper Scuba Gear Regulator could be rather tough if you haven’t purchase one before. All of the regulators manufactured these days are quality control regulated and are guaranteed to meet specific standards. So no matter which one you plan on getting it’s very doubtful you’ll be disappointed. One of the main suggestions is to purchase one of the major name brands. Many have tried and tested these Scuba Gear Regulators before you have. Also certain brands when purchased offer a life-time of free servicing that go along with it. This isn’t necessarily the case with all products, but when purchasing a regulator it’s important to note that this is one of the products that you will get more out of it the more you spend. The reason is the materials will be made of a much higher quality and will be more durable and are made to withstand the irregularities of the ocean waters. The purchasing costs for a Scuba Gear Regulator will vary, but if you are diligent you can find a very nice one online for under $100.00 these days. These should end up performing just as good as a brand new one you purchased in a Scuba Diving Retail Shop. The only difference is that if you are new to Scuba Diving, you should get it checked out by a qualified Scuba Gear Inspector before you go on your first dive. You’ll want to make sure that the various parts of your regulator are functioning properly and that none of the parts are missing as well as none of the hoses being torn. Also don’t forget to purchase an Octupus as well. An Octupus is your 2nd regulator and should only be used in emergencies. You will give this to our Diving Partner if they run out of air as a backup air source. Also make sure your Octupus is from the same manufacturer as the one you purchased your original regulator from to ensure compatability. You don’t have to necessarily purchase your gauges from the same manufacturer. However that being said I would still recommend going with a major manufacturer. This way you won’t have to worry about the accuracy of these Scuba Gauges like you would if you purchased an imitation. For example Uwatec or Suunto are two great ones to go with. Also I wanted to mention that when you go on your next Scuba Diving Adventure, don’t be too concerned about Sharks or getting swallowed by one. At least not according to statistics. One one person died of a Shark Attack in the year 2007. And in 2008 there were only 4 people. The media likes to really scare people about these, so much so it makes people afraid to go swimming in the Ocean. The chances of you getting struck by lightning are about 15x larger.

About Reef Diving

Reef diving can be one of the most exhilarating experience of your life. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef is considered as one of the most popular destinations for reef diving in the world. Situated near Queensland in Australia, the Great Barrier Reef is about 185 miles away from the mainland on the southern side. Not only is it the largest reef in the world but the most beautiful one too.

The calm and lucid waters around the reef make it the best location for scuba diving in the world. Water may run deep at certain places, but is generally moderate for amateurs to dive in. For beginners, diving should be in shallow waters – about 60 feet in depth. However for experts, there are reefs around the Coral Sea where the depth is about 300 feet.

Wreck diving is a favorite scuba diving activity and is widely undertaken by both amateur and experienced divers. Amongst the many wrecks are Captain James Cook’s ship “Endeavour”. Another famous wreck is that of the HMS Pandora, which met its fate in 1791. There are about 30 shipwreck sites; most of them are opened to wreck divers. If you are interested in wreck diving, it is imperative that you hire a guide to take you. In fact, you should never attempt a reef or wreck dive on your own.

It is important to remember that reef diving is just a branch of scuba diving and all the gears or equipments are the same! Reef diving is among the most popular for divers of all experience levels. Due to the freshwater run off from many river system’s, coral reefs do not grow close to the shore and all coral reef diving is available only from islands or dive boats at a distance of 35 to 50 km (20 to 30 miles) offshore.

Reef diving is an experience of its own and you will get to know it once you undertake this amazing sport! So go ahead and plan for a reef diving vacation in Australia.

All About My Scuba Diving Experience

Scuba diving is a great way to experience the underwater kingdom. It gives you the chance to unveil the mysteries and the wonders of the environment which covers the majority of our planet. It is believed that once you learn all about scuba diving, it will become a lifelong obsession. After I had a private lesson, it is time to take an exam for an open water dive certificate. My exam took place in Boracay Island. Boracay is a famous tourist destination. With its white sandy beaches and blue clear water, it is considered a paradise island. Many wonderful and interesting marine lives can also be found in the dive sites. The marine life is very diversified that a diver will definitely enjoy and love diving in.

During my first dive experience I was really excited but a bit nervous. I really tried hard not panic as I and my instructor went deeper and deeper underwater. This is my chance to overcome my fear. It was not long I felt comfortable. It was really a great experience, seeing the beauty of sea wildlife because of the presence of many varieties of reef fish, with Lagoon Rays and moray eels. It was totally a different world. It is so quite. For me, it is a total relaxation.

Another diving experience that was unforgettable in my lifetime was when I scuba dive in Tulum, Mexico. Tulum offers some of the best reef diving and snorkeling in the Mayan Riviera, together with exciting and cave diving. Around Tulum you will have access to many freshwater caverns known as cenotes, part of an ancient underwater river system running from the deep jungle to the sea throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. A combination of various geological events and climate changes created an incredible and unique ecosystem in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. I am positive that you will not be disappointed with your scuba diving experience in Tulum.

Several things I appreciate about my visit in Tulum are the not so crowded beaches, its white, sugar-like sand and turquoise blue water, and their rustic cabanas. These cabanas are quite unique Tulum accommodations. This place is not for you if you’re looking for luxuries. But since we visited as a group we opted to rent a Tulum beach house.

I am really eager to experience more in scuba diving, to widen my knowledge and explore more.
